About Me

Hello, I am Desiree Jimenez and I am the intermediate ALP teacher here at Ashland Ranch!  This is my fifth year of teaching ALP, but only my third year at Ashland.  I previously taught at Houston Elementary in Gilbert for 18 years, before making my home at the ranch!

On an academic note, I received a Bachelor's degree from ASU, and a Master's degree from NAU, with both degrees in education.  I also obtained an endorsement in Gifted education, which led me to teach in the gifted program.  That was the best decision I ever made, because I LOVE teaching ALP!

I was born in Munich, Germany and grew up as a military brat!  That means I moved a great deal and was able to see many countries, as well as states.  I have family on my mother's side in Austria, and family on my father's side in Idaho and Washington.  I try to visit them as much as possible during our summer breaks.  I do love traveling!

I am married and have one grown son, as well as a beautiful Pit Bull Terrier.  The dog is the baby of the house; she is spoiled rotten!  I like to spend time with family and read in my spare time.  I love European milk chocolate, seafood, Mexican food, and water.

You may reach me at the e-mail link above with any questions you may have.
